Frequently asked questions about Azobé wood
Is Azobé suitable for decking?
Yes, Azobé is ideal for decking thanks to its high wear resistance and natural grip. However, please note that a minimum thickness of 35 mm or 40 mm is used due to warping.
How does Azobé wood turn grey?
Untreated Azobé naturally ages to a silver-gray shade, without compromising its quality.
Can Azobé come into contact with water?
Absolutely. Azobé is one of the few wood species that can withstand both fresh and salt water for extended periods.
Is it easy to edit?
Despite the hardness of Ekki, the wood can still be machined quite easily. Due to the strong cross grain, machine planing requires a small rake angle to obtain a smooth surface. Dry processing has a clear dulling effect on saws and chisels.
