Angelim Vermelho heartwood is colored yellow-brown, usually with stripes and often with an orange-like tint, coloring to red-brown. The sapwood is pinkish and not always sharply defined from the heartwood. When using Angelim Vermelho, it must be taken into account that it releases color in contact with water, so it is not suitable for, for example, a wooden outdoor bench. Angelim Vermelho can be used in similar applications as Azobé, mainly civil engineering applications. Always keep in mind that it has a specific butyric odor both fresh and dry.
