Guariuba is a sturdy tropical hardwood that works well, both mechanically and by hand. It can be easily sawn, planed, and milled and absorbs oil, stain, and lacquer beautifully, creating a durable and clean finish. Pre-drilling for screwing and nailing prevents splitting, and although small, hard knots can sometimes cause slight irregularities, it generally produces a smooth and even surface, perfect for both structural and aesthetic applications.
Guariuba is a sustainable tropical hardwood that meets the most important Dutch and European timber standards. According to NEN-EN 350, the heartwood of this species falls into durability class 1, meaning it is highly resistant to fungi, insects, and rot. For specific applications, such as cladding or construction, the wood is also assessed according to standards such as NEN-EN 335 for use classes and SKH publication 99-05 for window frames with KOMO certification. Thanks to these strict quality criteria, you can be sure that guariuba is stable, reliable, and suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.
