The common import quality in Oregon Pine is “No. 2 Clear & Better”. The rules for this quality are quite general and not very strict. An enormous variation in this quality is possible without breaking the rules.
Boogaerdt Hout supplies higher quality Oregon Pine especially for the Dutch market. This excellent type of wood has been imported by us from the American state of Oregon and from British Colombia in Canada for approximately 75 years. We can rely on a long experience as a supplier to the carpentry (frame wood), ladder and mast industry.
We only import our wood from those sawmills that are willing to go with us in the direction of the requirements set by the carpentry industry. These additional requirements consist of restrictions in the proportion of sapwood, tassels & resin bags and also apply to fine grain.
We proudly call this high quality Oregon Pine. Oregon Pine in solid wood (i.e. not finger jointed) also meets the requirements that apply to the Police Quality Mark with regard to the resistance class for burglary resistance (source Stichting Hout Research).
