Part 1: From forest to semi-finished product Larch Dutch Wood

Managing our forests, sawing logs, drying, planing, and finishing wood: every step requires specific expertise and experience. And yet, the essence remains surprisingly simple.

Using relatively simple techniques, a tree trunk is transformed into a product that can be used in construction and interior design. No petroleum. No energy-intensive smelting. Just a natural material, sourced from sustainably managed forests. Sustainable? Yes, because in all Dutch forests combined, an amount of wood grows daily that could load 200 trucks. We harvest about half of that.

And beautiful products are made from it. Such as the FSC-certified Larch cladding from Hollands Hout®. In this first video of a three-part series, we take you through the process: from forest to semi-finished product.

Part 2: Hollands Hout® in practice: visiting Wijk en Aalburg with Alex Roode

In part two of our video series, we travel to a beautiful project in Wijk en Aalburg! Together with Alex Roode, we take a look at how our Larch Dutch Wood® transforms the facade of this building in Wijk en Aalburg. But how did that wood end up there looking so sleek? To find out, we also take a brief look inside the production hall in this video. After all, before the facade elements can be installed, they undergo a meticulous process of craftsmanship.
