Wooden facades
There is already a lot of interest in this product from the wood industry, architects, clients and resellers. Oscar Smeets, director of Boogaerdt Hout: “Wooden facades are a very strong rising trend. And there is also a very clear awareness among clients and architects about circular construction, building with materials from the region.”
Kasper Broek, wood product specialist at Staatsbosbeheer: “We have been selling larch for a long time, of course. What is new is that we now supply the facade cladding finger-jointed and free of sapwood. This gives you a more stable, straighter and dimensionally stable product and because of its natural durability it can also be used untreated. It has another advantage: we can use a larger part of the tree in a high-quality way.”
Dutch Wood
Larch Dutch Wood is a product of Staatsbosbeheer. Quality wood from our forests is sawn, dried and planed for applications in, for example, construction and interior design.
Larch is a resinous wood species whose heartwood shows colour variations from pinkish to reddish brown. The sapwood is clearly distinguishable from the heartwood. For a coniferous wood species, larch is quite heavy. Extremely suitable for facade cladding and laminated exterior constructions, for example.
